IEBC engages stakeholders in EU Electoral Follow-up Mission to strengthen elections

IEBC Led by Deputy Commission Secretary – Operations Ruth Kulundu, participated in a roundtable discussion organised by the European Union (EU) Electoral Follow-up Mission to Kenya.

The forum, which was at Sankara Hotel in Nairobi, offered a platform for key electoral stakeholders to provide feedback and recommendations aimed at strengthening Kenya’s electoral processes.

Members of the EU Electoral Follow-up Mission and other stakeholders engaged constructively with the IEBC team, sharing insights on challenges and opportunities for improving electoral integrity and inclusivity.

Speaking at the forum, DCS Kulundu reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to upholding free, fair, and credible elections.

“Engaging with stakeholders is essential in ensuring that our electoral processes are inclusive and transparent. We welcome these recommendations and will consider them as we continue to refine our electoral framework,” said Kulundu.

Stakeholders present included political parties, representatives of Persons with Disabilities, women and youth groups, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), the Media Council of Kenya, the National Council of Churches of Kenya among others. Each group shared perspectives on enhancing electoral accessibility, transparency and fairness.
